Hi there! I'm Shyline Msika, a Zimbabwean creative, and this is my digital notebook, "Writer's Notebook."
The Root of My Story
My life has been a journey across borders and experiences. As an immigrant who has lived in South Africa and now Canada, I have witnessed and navigated significant challenges—from facing prejudice as an African woman and an immigrant to experiencing stages of wealth and poverty with my family.
These experiences were not just obstacles; they became the wellspring of my empathy and my artistic voice. My initial frustrations found their channel through poetry and drawing, and when I discovered filmmaking, that became my most powerful medium. This journey of channeling personal struggle is what fueled my commitment to shining a light on marginalized groups.

My Creative Mission
I believe in the power of stories to change the world, and my mission is to use my skills to advocate for a more just and equitable society.
I am a versatile artist because my work is constantly inspired by witnessing and documenting the life experiences of others. This is reflected in the diverse nature of my creative work:
For the Imagination: I gravitate towards surreal and fantasy drawings and dive into the depths of Psychological Thrillers in my short fiction.
For the World: I dedicate my articles to exploring complex social justice issues and commit to telling real people's stories through compelling film and photography.
With a foundation in writing, filmmaking, and visual arts, I am here to explore the intersection of art, social justice, and cultural discovery. Whether you are seeking a writer, a filmmaker, or a creative partner, I look forward to connecting and bringing visions to life.
ART
I am a pop surrealist artist, I love color and odd shapes. When I draw, I get lost in all the colors like a trance, and I am always so surprised at the end of the drawing, but I do believe that these drawings reflect the inside of my mind, here are a few for reference, for more check out my Printerest
